If you’re like most people, you might not know the quality of your tap water. Before we begin an install, we research the quality of your city or town water so we can optimize the filtration of your drinking water. Here are a couple useful resources to explore:
EWG: Tap Water Database
The Environmental Working Group is a non- profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to protecting human health and the environment. For over 20 years, EWG scientists, policy experts, lawyers, communication experts and programmers have worked tirelessly to make sure someone is standing up for public health when government and industry won’t.
Since 2010, water utilities’ testing has found pollutants in Americans’ tap water, according to an EWG drinking water quality analysis of 30 million state water records.
The site features research and news about pollutants found in drinking water, Drinking Water Standards and Consumer Reports. It also includes a Water Filter Guide. With a simple zip code, you can find a link to non-biased reports on your city or town’s drinking water.
How to Read Your Town Water Report
This consumer confidence report (CCR) is the twenty‐first publication issued under the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations requiring annual notification to all consumers about local drinking water sources and water quality information. It is available to all customers and delivered to the Andover Board of Health, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH), and the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). This report tells you where your town’s drinking water comes from, water quality test results and your town’s water treatment process.
