Boston, MA Water Quality Report
In the last two decades Boston Water and Sewer Commission (BWSC), in partnership with Massachusetts Water Resource Authority (MWRA) continued to maintain excellent drinking water through the investment of millions of dollars upgrading its infrastructure. In 2019, BWSC received a Public WAter Systems Award from the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) that acknowledged achieving drinking water excellence for nine of the last ten years.
How the MWRA Provides Safe Drinking Water
The Massachusetts Water Resource Authority maintains state-of-the-art treatment procedures and is committed to providing a reliable supply of water and to make sure your water is safe, fresh and tastes great. Redundant pipelines and tunnels allow inspection and maintenance of key facilities while ensuring uninterrupted service. The MWRA also continues to rehabilitate and replace pipelines throughout the distribution system to improve both reliability and water quality.
